Growth and inflation revised up, says NZIER Consensus Forecasts
Research, New Zealand Institute of Economic | December 2016
Abstract
The latest NZIER Consensus Forecasts shows forecasters have revised up their growth and inflation forecasts.
A stronger household sector drives much of the upward revision to growth in the New Zealand economy. Continued strong migration-led population growth is expected to boost household spending and residential construction further over the next few years. Meanwhile, businesses are also feeling more confident, and are more optimistic about investment and hiring.
