    Alaoa Hydropower Refurbishment: Samoa

    Abstract
    The upgrade and refurbishment the Alaoa Hydropower Plant consisted of a $1.5 million contract of works to increase the generation capacity and replace aging equipment. The Alaoa Hydropower Plant provides the grid with clean, low-cost, renewable energy and is a key power generation asset of the national power utility, Samoa Electric Power Corporation (EPC). The Alaoa Hydropower Plant was originally commissioned in 1959 and was due for a complete upgrade and refurbishment.
