Abstract
India was a founding member of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and is now the fourth largest shareholder of ADB. ADB commenced operations in India in 1986 and has since approved 205 sovereign loans totaling $35.1 billion. The current portfolio includes 87 sovereign loans amounting to $13.2 billion.
