Asian Development Bank and Afghanistan : Fact Sheet
Asian Development Bank | March 2008
Updated yearly, this ADB Fact Sheet provides social and economic indicators on Afghanistan as well as concise information on ADB's operations in the country and contact information. By all economic and social indicators, Afghanistan is the poorest country in the Asia and Pacific region and one of the least developed countries in the world. Four years after the end of nearly a quarter century of civil conflict, inadequate health care and education, gender inequality, and poverty continue to present huge obstacles for Afghans struggling to improve their lives.
