This sector synthesis aims to identify and analyze the key factors specificallyaffecting the implementation and performance of Bank-assisted projects in the fisheries sector. Lessons learned from these projects/programs can in turn be fed back into the project cycle with the objective of improving future projects/programs. This report is a synthesis of evaluationfindings and is based on a review of project performance audit reports, impact evaluationstudies, country syntheses of evaluation findings, and one technical assistance performanceaudit report. It takes into account the information and data stored in the PostevaluationInformation System.Project/program completion reports (PCRs) were also reviewed toascertain whether the findings and lessons learned from Bank-assisted projects evaluated bythe Postevaluation Office (PEO) had been considered in the formulation/implementation ofsubsequent ones, and to capture the findings and lessons learned from completedprojects/programs that had not been evaluated independently by PEO.
