Abstract
The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has been working with the government of Papua New Guinea since 1971, and is now the country’s second-largest development partner. As of 31 December 2014, the active funding portfolio totaled $1.01 billion, comprising 25 loans, nine grants (including one grant from the Asian Development Fund), eight technical assistance projects, and two loan and equity operations in the private sector. The country partnership strategy 2011–2015 for Papua New Guinea prioritizes transport infrastructure, renewable energy, private sector development, regional cooperation, and rural primary health.
