dc.description.abstract"This paper tests the hypothesis that the service sector is a growth engine in the Thai economy. While many developed countries maintain a positive association between the shares of the sector in output and per capita income, the opposite is true in Thailand. Using estimates from a fixed-effects model, the study confirms two waves of growth. In addition, total factor productivity and revealed comparative advantages are also discussed to determine the significant role of services and some service activities. "
