Biography
Alisa DiCaprio has been a research fellow at ADBI since February 2016. Her research explores ways to make trade a more effective development tool. In particular, she highlights nontraditional trade topics, including trade finance gaps, e-commerce, and fragile and landlocked states. She is on secondment from the Asian Development Bank, where she is a regional cooperation specialist with the Economic Research and Regional Cooperation Department. Biography
Alisa DiCaprio has been a research fellow at ADBI since February 2016. Her research explores ways to make trade a more effective development tool. In particular, she highlights nontraditional trade topics, including trade finance gaps, e-commerce, and fragile and landlocked states. She is on secondment from the Asian Development Bank, where she is a regional cooperation specialist with the Economic Research and Regional Cooperation Department. Previously, she worked at the United Nations University’s World Institute for Development Economics Research in Helsinki, Finland. She did her postdoctoral fellowship at New York University. Her PhD is from MIT, and she holds a BA and MA from Johns Hopkins University. In addition to her academic work, she has worked in the public and private sector supporting US trade policy, researching emerging market opportunities for exporters, and organizing unions in the healthcare sector.
