Country Operations Business Plan: Myanmar 2019–2021

Abstract

The country partnership strategy (CPS) of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) for Myanmar, 2017–2021, approved in March 2017, supports the government in achieving sustainable and inclusive economic development and creating jobs to reduce poverty. ADB support focuses on (i) improving access and connectivity to link Myanmar to regional and global markets; (ii) building human resources and capacity to enhance competitiveness; and (iii) promoting structural and policy reforms to transform and modernize the economy, and strengthen public and private institutions. These are in line with the government’s strategic directions in the Myanmar Sustainable Development Plan (2018–2030) and ADB’s Strategy 2030.
