dc.description.abstract | In this study, the knowledge of respondents about more than 25 social protection programmes was assessed. According to the survey results, majority of the respondents knew about a few of those programmes. In general, it has been found out that majority of the target population residing in rural and urban areas is aware of certain popular social protection programmes such as Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) and Prime Minister's National Health Program (PM NHP) in Punjab and BISP and Seh at Sahulat Programme in KP. These programmes have acquired much popularity primarily because of yielding tangible socio-economic benefits among people, nevertheless certain anomalies in their implementation appeared. These anomalies are related mostly to information dissemination concerning the eligibility criteria and the accessing (registration) procedures. | |
