Abstract
This brief presents ADB experiences on supporting civil registration and formal identity for women through its lending operations in Cambodia, Nepal and Pakistan. This brief presents ADB experiences on supporting civil registration and formal identity for women through its lending operations in Cambodia, Nepal and Pakistan. Civil registration provides women with formal identity enabling their access to social services, justice systems, formal employment and voting rights. Civil registration is central and fundamental to women exercising their social, economic and political rights. In short, civil registration gives women voice, choice and protection.
