Asian Development Bank and Philippines: Fact Sheet
Asian Development Bank | April 2012
Abstract
Updated yearly, this ADB Fact Sheet provides social and economic indicators on Phillipines as well as concise information on ADB's operations in the country and contact information. The Asian Development Bank (ADB) works closely in partnership with the Government of the Philippines, its host country and a founding member. The country partnership strategy (CPS) process underwent and benefited from a wide range of consultations with government, the private sector, and civil society in Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. Continuous coordination with the National Economic and Development Authority and with other oversight and sector agencies ensured its full alignment with the Philippine Development Plan, 2011–2016. The new CPS envisions that ADB will further strengthen its stakeholder partnerships in the Philippines, increase its engagement in the Philippine Development Forum and its working groups, and establish a board of eminent representatives from civil society who will give advice on the country program and operations.
