Updated yearly, this ADB Fact Sheet provides social and economic indicators on Sri Lanka as well as concise information on ADB's operations in the country and contact information. The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has worked closely with the Government of Sri Lanka since 1966. As of 31 December 2014, ADB has approved a total of 192 loans (both sovereign and nonsovereign) to Sri Lanka, with cumulative lending of $6.91 billion. ADB has also provided $358.00 million in grant assistance and $127.78 million in technical assistance projects. ADB assistance supports the development of energy, roads, education and training, water supply and sanitation, the finance sector, and a renewed involvement in irrigation.
