Abstract
Since its partnership with Bhutan in 1982, the Asian Development Bank (ADB) has become Bhutan’s leading source of development support.
ADB has extended various programs in the areas of energy, transport, finance, and urban development to help the country tackle some of its constraints.
To date, Bhutan has received about $464.1 million in loans, $193.04 million for grants, and $65.84 million for technical assistance from ADB. Cumulative disbursements to Bhutan for lending and grants financed by ordinary capital resources and other special funds amounted to $421.1 million.
