dc.description.abstractIn 2002, the ECG decided to take stock of practices used to evaluate policy-based lending operations (PBLs), and to identify what seemed to be good practices. This publication, Good Practices for the Evaluation of Policy-Based Lending by Multilateral Development Banks, is the result of that stocktaking exercise. It briefly surveys the types of operations that fall into this category and the results of such evaluations, before assessing the criteria and forms of analysis that have been used in their evaluation. It ends with specific consideration of the criteria that can be used in the rating of such operations.
