Asian Development Bank | June 2015
Abstract
Under ADB's Quality Primary Education in the North Pacific pilot project, the Early Grade Learning Assessment instrument was developed with support from the Japan Fund for Poverty Reduction.
The Early Grade Learning Assessment (EGLA) is a formative assessment tool that provides a detailed picture of student performance levels in reading and mathematics.
The project was designed to develop and trial new inputs in learning, assessment, teacher development, and data management to improve the quality of primary education in the Marshall Islands and the Federated States of Micronesia, and to evaluate student assessment system in Palau.
