Improving the Relevance of the Technical Vocational Education and Training System in Vietnam
Asian Development Bank | July 2012
Abstract
To promote and sustain high economic growth rates, Viet Nam must develop highly-skilled industrial workers who can increase productivity and manufacture high-technology products and value-added services.
In its 2011—2020 economic development strategies, human capacity building has been the primary priority for the country.
Significant skills gaps have emerged between what is provided by a supply-driven training system and what the evolving market economy requires.
Further, most of the graduates from universities, colleges and technical, vocational schools have failed to acquire the skills required by businesses.
