dc.description.abstractIn Viet Nam, the informal sector is pervasive and in rural areas, it is estimated that 47% of nonfarm jobs are informal. Informal sector workers’ vulnerability to various shocks is very high because most have no social security, are poor, and have very low education levels. Two studies have been conducted to examine how improvements to vocational training policies can benefit informal, or rural, workers. The recommendations included the need for informal sector workers to move to better livelihood options and to facilitate improvements on existing occupations so that informal workers can better generate more income.en_US
