Tip Sheet - Gender-Inclusive Approaches in Urban Development

Abstract
Gender-responsive urban planning can contribute to gender equality and women's empowerment in significant ways through the provision of accessible and affordable infrastructure and services for water supply and sanitation, waste disposal, electricity, transport, and housing, security of tenure, employment and income-generating opportunities through formal and informal labor markets, safety and security for all citizens in growing urban neighborhoods.
