To help the Asian Development Bank (ADB) effectively implement its Policy on Gender and Development and accelerate gender equality and women's empowerment in the Asia Pacific region, the multi-donor Gender and Development Cooperation Fund (GDCF) was established. This is the sixth GDCF report presenting progress and achievements from all regional and country-specific technical assistance projects approved and/or implemented in 2009. It includes reports on financial progress and sub-project status, accomplishments, and challenges. The report also makes suggestions for ways forward in 2009.
