dc.description.abstractThe concentration of malnutrition in Asia is greater than anywhere else on Earth. Seventy percent of the world's malnourished children reside in the region. Malnutrition's causes and solutions at each stage of the human life cycle are discussed in a regional study on Nutrition Trends, Policies and Strategies and synthesized in this publication. The study aims to create a better understanding of ways to improve life span, quality of life, early cognition and life-long learning, and earning capacity of individuals and nations. This publication covers under- and over-nutrition and micronutrient deficiencies in the Asian and Pacific region where most of the world's malnourished live quantifies the cost of malnutrition and the cost effectiveness and rates of return on nutrition investments defines a partnership of communities, governments, and the private sector to prevent malnutrition and promote health and productivity analyzes management and institutional support for nutrition, including capacity needs proposes a financing strategy for raising investment presents a typology of ADB developing member countries to match capacity to need
