dc.description.abstractThe Greater Mekong Subregion (GMS)comprises Cambodia, People’s Republic of China, Lao People’s Democratic Republic,Myanmar, Thailand, and Viet Nam. It is home to about 300 million people and covers an area of 2.6 million square kilometers. The GMS Economic Cooperation Program (GMS Program) was initiated in 1992 with ADB assistance to facilitate sustainable economic growth and reduce poverty in the subregion by strengthening the economic linkages among the six countries.
