dc.description.abstract | The Cooperation Fund for the Water Sector aims to promote effective water management policies and practices at the regional, subregional, and country levels, and thereby catalyze the implementation of ADB’s water policy. The establishment of the Cooperation Fund for the Water Sector was a significant achievement of collaboration between ADB and the governments of the Netherlands and Norway. The resources made available from the Fund between 2001 and 2009 have made a tremendous difference in catalyzing the implementation of the Water for All policy in the Asia and Pacific region. The level of awareness and understanding of the challenges and issues confronting the water sector has been raised significantly, and a wide range of innovative approaches have been tested, and good practices have been developed and disseminated. The profile of water sector in the region was raised considerably, and the Fund has also helped ADB to create greater synergy in its own efforts for its clients and partners. Several innovations catalyzed by the Fund have also had international significance in the global water community. This final report sets out highlights of the performance of the fund, comparative key outputs summary, outcomes achieved to date, and financial status of the Fund. | |

Institutional materials are ADB-centric publications and similar materials from other institutions that have elements of being scholarly. Institutional materials may consist of administrative documents, strategy or policy notes and reviews, conference proceedings, operational reports, or project notes that may be of value to researchers and academics. It is possible that these materials may not serve as the primary resource for research work, but they may point researchers to the right direction and give supplemental data.
