Annual Report of the e-Asia and Knowledge Partnership Fund 2011
Asian Development Bank | March 2012
Abstract
The 2011 report of the e-Asia and Knowledge Partnership Fund aims to describe and review the progress of the Fund operations during the period of January to December 2011, in compliance with the reporting requirements stipulated in the ADB Board Paper and the ADB-GOK Channel Financing Agreement.
The e-Asia and Knowledge Partnership Fund (EAKPF) aims to contribute to poverty reduction and foster the economic and social development process in ADB's developing member countries (DMCs) by supporting technical assistance (TA) projects that promote and utilize information communication technology (ICT) (e-Asia program) and by sharing information and knowledge (Knowledge Partnership program).
In 2011, there were 14 proposals endorsed by the GOK and 13 TAs approved by ADB for implementation. There were significantly more projects endorsed and approved under Knowledge Partnership compared to those under the e-Asia program. The ADB-approved TAs, most of which supported capacity development, were prominently regional in scope and focused on public sector management, followed by finance, multiple sectors, and water and other municipal infrastructure and services.

From Strategy to Practice: The Tonle Sap Initiative August 2006
Serrat, Olivier (Asian Development Bank, 2006-08-06)The Tonle Sap is a natural phenomenon. In the rainy season, the level of water in the Mekong River exceeds the elevation of the largest freshwater lake in Southeast Asia and forces the Tonle Sap River to flow upstream. The lake swells and fish, reptiles, birds, mammals, and plants thrive on this reverse hydrology. The Tonle Sap Basin Strategy promotes an approach that conserves nature and offers ...The Tonle Sap is a natural phenomenon.
