Asian Development Bank | October 2009
Abstract
This brief explores the Asian Development Bank's (ADB) Social Sector Program (SSP) Loan in Thailand. The loan was the first aid-assisted initiative focusing on social sectors in response to the economic crisis in Thailand. The SSP had three main purposes: mitigating the effects of the crisis, enhancing Thailand's competitiveness, and rationalizing efficiencies in the delivery of social services.
