The new data show that the number of poor in Asia and the Pacific is more than one third higher than earlier estimated This publication explains the methodology behind the new poverty estimates, highlights country specifics on extreme poverty and vulnerability, makes poverty projections through 2020 for the Asia and Pacific region based on pro-poor and pro-rich distribution as well as new growth scenarios, and discusses implications for the Asian Development Bank. | |
