Abstract
The Asian Development Review (ADR) is a professional journal for disseminating the results of economic and development research relevant to Asia and the Pacific.
In this issue of the ADR, a wide range of topics related to economic and social development in the region are discussed. These include demographic dividends issues, state employment and human capital investments in Viet Nam households, foreign firms and indigenous technology in the People's Republic of China, household assets and income shocks in Pakistan's rural economic development, inequality of human opportunities, and the effect of political connection on firm value.
Internationally renowned scholars are welcome to submit articles for publication. Papers are intended for economists and social scientists in government, the private sector, academia, and international organizations. The ADR is published twice a year, in March and September, by MIT Press under the editorship of former ADBI Dean Masahiro Kawai.
