The objective of this study is to assess the current status of Pakistan Ambient Air Quality Standards (AAQSs) i.e., whether our standards are stringent or relaxed in comparison to other selected Asian countries and/or if these are consistent with WHO ambient air quality standards. The main focus of the study is to highlight the need for reconsideration/revision, towards further improvement in our national ambient air quality standards and their implementation, to safeguard public health, especially of children.
