Establishment of the Canadian Climate Fund for the Private Sector in Asia II

Abstract

This paper provides information on the establishment of a stand-alone, ADB-managed, single-donor trust fund designed to provide concessional cofinancing for ADB’s non-sovereign climate adaptation and mitigation projects. The fund also aims to improve gender equality in private sector climate projects, particularly the empowerment of women and girls. This paper outlines issues relating to the acceptance and administration of contributions for the resources to be received from the Government of Canada, acting through Global Affairs Canada. The fund is referred to as the Canadian Climate Fund for the Private Sector in Asia II (“CFPS II” or the “Fund”).
